About
Welcome to Dark Star Games!We are a small independent game studio working to constantly improve our skills and bring amazing gaming experiences to life!Currently we utilize Unreal Engine to develop our games.Starting in 2015, the studios founder, Devan Johnson, was working solo on improving his skills in game design creating small projects to learn Unreal Engine 4. Releasing a concept demo for the Lost Hope series in 2017.In 2021 the studio grew when new designers and musicians joined the team to create our first major self published title, a cinematic third-person survival horror game titled
Crisis of DreamCell.Our current projects in development are Crisis of DreamCell and Lost Hope.We create devlogs on our YouTube channel that details the development of our games, showcasing the early parts of development and its growth towards the players experience in the final version. We also create gaming videos that feature small animations created in Unreal Engine.

Crisis of DreamCell is a third-person survival horror game that challenges you to solve puzzles, manage supplies, and escape a nightmarish world.After an outbreak of experimental creatures, the bio-organic research facility of DreamCell is now on lockdown with the deadly experiments attempting to escape. Take on the role of the head scientist as he tries to escape in this cinematic third-person survival horror game. Equipped with a prototype suit and a newly developed gun that can take on these foes. Solve puzzles, keep an eye on your supplies, and watch for dangers around every corner to try and make it out alive.The demo is available now with the links below!

Lost Hope is our flagship psychological horror game franchise. The series features short horror games as side titles and the numbered entries as full titles.
Lost Hope (Concept Demo)

Lost Hope (Concept Demo) is the very first project created under Dark Star Games. This served as a learning project, to recreate Silent Hills P.T. with some added elements. This project has no relation to the world or story of Lost Hope.Story:Your name is unknown and you wake up in a house that you've never seen before. maybe it's just a trick of the mind or maybe you are in hell. travel down and discover the story of this house and find a way out . . . if you can.Remember this is just a concept demo and has no direct relation to the main title, it is just to test the mechanics and for practice, it won't be in the final version of the game.

Lost Hope (CD) Remake - (Working Title)

Lost Hope (CD) Remake is a remake/reimagining of the original concept demo released in 2017. This serves to expand on the world of Lost Hope with revamped systems and an original story that will flow into the main full game of Lost Hope.Currently the project is in early development with simple teaser images available. Lost Hope

The first mainline title in the Lost Hope series.Take the role of Michael, a 23-year-old college student, in this third-person psychological horror game. After years of mental anguish the darkened world slowly takes the minds of the weak. Will Michael survive the horrors within or get lost to the darkness?Currently this project is in extremely early development and is subject to many changes.
